Should I DIY or hire Removalists?

The choice to move all your items yourself or get some help from removalists can seem a bit daunting at times. Hiring removalists can be expensive, but most people don’t realize just the amount of effort you need to actually move everything. It always takes longer than you originally plan and you always end up spending just as much money on all the supplies you need like boxes, tape, and petrol. So below we’ll go over a few different points and see why hiring removalists is a better option than doing it yourself.

Australian-Removalists

1. Stress

We all have priorities whether they are work, kids, or something else. This can make things even more stressful and less organized when the time comes to move. Some people can juggle everything and seem to get off hitch free, but this is really rare. You can easily get stressed out when trying to pack everything, move all your big pieces of furniture and organize what everyone else should be doing. This is where the removalists will always win; they will move everything for you and you can sit back and relax.

2. Experience

Now unless you have moved a lot of times by yourself and pulled it off and learned from your mistakes, chances are a removalist will be much more experienced than you. They are trained thoroughly about how to pack and what to pack together as well as how to move all your boxes and heavy pieces of furniture. They will also provide you with all the packing materials you need, and will come with the right equipment to load and unload off a truck.

3. Transport

Most people think that their car or van will be big enough, but trust me you will come to realize that this is not the case. While your car will be fine to move most of the smaller boxes or anything you can fit, there is not nearly enough space to fit anything big. Australian removalists will have a wide selection of vehicles and they can move all of your things in one trip. You will have to make multiple trips with your car and will end up spending just as much money on fuel.

4. Insurance

Now nothing can absolutely guarantee that your belongings won’t get damaged, but with removalists they can offer you insurance on your belongings. This is something that you can’t get yourself where as a removalist company will have certain offers on insurance just in case anything gets bumped and damaged during the moving process.

5. Reliability

Now we all know that our families and friends can be great when things like moving need to happen, they are always there to lend a helping hand, but it can be hard to assign tasks to everyone and get things done on time when no one has any experience. This is where removalists will win again, they are super experienced and have enough manpower to get everything finished in the timeline that you allocate to them.

6. Health and Safety

This is another thing most people don’t even think about when moving, how dangerous moving and lifting heavy items can be. Australian removalists are trained in lifting and moving heavy objects properly without hurting themselves. Now we might be strong but most of us do not know how to lift all these heavy objects properly and minimizing the risk of injury. You could end up hurting yourself or someone else so please just leave it to the professionals.

Hopefully, this short guide can help you decide whether you want to move your belongings yourself or leave it to the removalists. Remember that if you choose to hire a removalist you want to book them as far in advance as you can so you know that they can be prepared and available that day. Most Australian removalists can quote you over the phone or just head over to their website for more details.
