Vinyl: Safety Flooring with Ironlike Durability and Easy Maintenance

vinyl flooring

First off, to all the DJs that clicked this article, I am sorry to say that it’s not about vinyl records. It is not about break dancing either, though it may look like it from the picture. What I’m going to talk about is safety flooring, more specifically about vinyl safety flooring. Although it has been around for almost a century, many people don’t recognize the full potential and the wide range of benefits that vinyl safety flooring provides.

Let’s start with the “safety” part. High-quality vinyl safety flooring often has aluminum oxide or other similar particles incorporated in the vinyl in order to improve traction and safety even when it is wet. This is what makes it the ideal solution both for commercial and residential buildings where slip resistance is an important requirement. Vinyl flooring also meets the safety requirements for flammability, it is eco-friendly and offers a certain degree of sound insulation.

Another great benefit of vinyl flooring is that it offers a huge range of design options. You can find it in just about any colour or pattern you can think of. Today’s printing and photographic technology can recreate a remarkably realistic replication of natural materials such as different kinds of wood, stone and tiles, making sure it will satisfy any design preference.

Vinyl flooring is also very durable and resilient. When laid correctly, it will last a long time with very little maintenance. The most common thickness you can find is 20mm and special layers make it resistant to stains, scratches, and dents. It is a perfect choice for handling high foot traffic without wearing and another plus is that it usually comes with great warranties.

Probably one of the most popular reasons for people to choose vinyl flooring is the fact that it is very hygienic and very easy to clean. The very few seams it has are sealed which means there are few places where germs can thrive. Vinyl is also very easy to clean since you can use different kinds of disinfectants and sanitizing chemicals without risking damage. This will not only allow you to keep your floor aesthetically clean, but it will also keep it germ-free, which is great for people that suffer from asthma or allergies and you can even let your kids crawl and play safely on the floor.

Yet another great benefit of vinyl flooring is that it’s very economical. You can purchase and install it for less than most other types of flooring. If you are a handy person, you can even further reduce the costs by installing it yourself. Since vinyl flooring is very good at emulating the look of other flooring materials, such as stone or wood, so you can get the same effect without spending a ton of money on buying and maintaining the real stuff.

Ever since a child, his love for books of mystery, race cars and travelling keeps on growing so it's difficult for him to single out that one all-time favourite hobby. If there's one thing he hates, though, it's having pictures taken but you already guessed that from his choice of plant photo for the blog.
