Dye Your Hair At Home Or At A Hairdresser

Almost every woman has tried to dye her hair at home at least once. And for some this is a normal beauty routine once a month while others prefer the professional services of hairdressers. Aside, from having proper hairdressing equipment, hairdressers know how to treat different hair types, what color will best compliment your face and use various techniques to better execute the job.

But aside from entrusting professionals with your hair, the quality of dye matters as well. The hair color bought from a beauty store doesn’t have the qualities of a professional hair color. That’s why it is better not to dye hair on your own. One of the most important components of hairdressing is colouristics which consists of two important processes, chemical and oxidation. When hair color, mixed with ammonia and peroxide, is applied to the hair, the molecules of hair color enter into the cortex and change the structure and color of your natural hair. After this it is important to use professional shampoo to ‘close’ hair follicles to prevent color from fading away rapidly and preventing hair from becoming more porous as it is now target to the free radicals.

Another good reason to have hair colored by a professional is when you want to successfully cover gray hair. Even though store bought hair colour is advertized to fully cover gray hair, it is not always true. On the other hand, professional hair color has components strong enough to cover even the most stubborn gray hair. Also, hair salons are equipped with special equipment and hairdresser attend numerous seminars and know well the brand they work with.

Many women are satisfied with the hair color they buy from the stores, but we have to be careful of dye’s content as everything enters into our body. The best ingredients are not found in the store hair colors. Good alternative are bio organic hair colors available in the bio shops, but they also don’t have the after coloring shampoo which is essential to “close” the hair and stabilize the pH. Therefore, choose carefully and do not save money on products which may affect your health. The best option is to dye your hair at a beauty hair salons with professional brands which are still affordable.
